Court has ordered temporary guardianship over the person of Airai Governor Tmewang Rengulbai and his estates to his son Osel Voshon Rengulbai based on the petition filed earlier by the son.
The order would allow his son Osel Rengulbai to be the guardian of his father’s physical self, to manage his personal and business matters until such time Governor Rengulbai recovers or upon order by the court.
The management of the personal and business affairs of Rengublai will be under direct supervision of the court making Mr. Osel Rengulbai the officer of the court.
Powers of the petitioner include managing Tmewang Rengulbai’s personal assets and properties, including his monies and pay all necessary expenses. He is also to manage business assets including taxes, wages, inventory and other expenses of Governor Rengulbai’s business known as “Business Lounge.”
All expenses incurred and paid must be reported to the court within 7 days according to the order.
Governor Tmewang Rengulbai was involved in a car accident on November 15th, 2020 which caused “severe closed head injury with cerebral edema”, in other words, head injury which caused swelling to the brain.
Medical report showed that as of December 28, 2020, Governor Rengulbai’s condition has greatly improved from his December 2nd status. According to medical report, he could feed himself while before he had to be tube-fed. He could also hold conversations with occasional memory lapse and was undergoing physical therapy. As of December 28, he was in preparation to be discharged.
Court order was issued last week Friday, January 14, 2021.
