Debedebokel is pleased to announce the successful hosting of its first-ever informal Question-and-Answer session with the candidates for the 12th Ngchesar State Legislature. This milestone event was held on Thursday, November 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at Bai er a Oldiang in Ngchesar State, and marked an important step in promoting open dialogue and strengthening community participation in local democratic processes.

Candidates who took the time to attend and engage with the community included:

Mr. Chubby Mai, Ms. Isebong Saito, Ms. Hasinta Tabelual, Mr. Abel Noah, Mr. Florencio Adelbai, Mr. Jackson Doktok, Mr. Junior H. Spesungel, Mr. Percy Rechelluul , Ms. M. Kyarii Kazuma, and Mr. Sylvester Ngirkelau

The session was intentionally designed to be informal, allowing both candidates and community members to interact comfortably and openly. This approach aimed to break barriers, ease tensions in a small community where everyone is closely connected, and encourage genuine conversation. The goal was to create an environment where people felt free to ask questions and engage with candidates in a relaxed, accessible manner.

The discussion covered several key issues affecting Ngchesar State, including land lease concerns, road improvement needs, drug-related issues, grant opportunities, and the importance of strengthening education for children. Participants described the dialogue as highly fruitful and informative, with many noting that the time felt too short due to the richness of the conversation.

Throughout the session, strong emphasis was placed on transparency, accountability, and open, honest communication. It was the constituents who reminded the candidates of the importance of serving the community with integrity and ensuring that public office remains a place of service rather than personal gain.

Debedebokel extends its sincere appreciation to all candidates for their participation, openness, and dedication to engaging with the community. We wish them well in the upcoming election and look forward to continuing to provide a platform that supports meaningful community conversations.
