November 6, 2016 (Koror) “DeWill 2 Live Campaign” once again reminds the community of the high cost of drunk or drugged driving with people coming together every afternoon to the roadside with signs reminding people not to drink and drive.
As Palau observes the Red Ribbon month (November 23 to January 31), raising awareness about the consequences of drunk or drugged driving, themed “You Only Live Once- YOLO”, the “DeWill 2 Live Campaign” brings home the real impact of consequence of drunk or drugged driving.
10 years ago, DeWill, a teenage high school student at the time lost his precious life to a drunk driver on December 23rd. This campaign was born that tragic day to prevent similar incidences from happening.
Every year since then, his family, classmates, friends and community come together to remind the public of such tragic consequence.
During this holiday season and the days to come, motorists are encouraged to designate a driver to prevent the loss of life, injury and other dangers associated with drunk and drugged driving.
