Two dive boat operators said they are worried about having no customers for diving and island tours.

The two who wished not to be named said, since the increase of charges for certain tourist fees, they have been without customers for nearly a week.

“This is worrying because we have to make money every day to pay for our rental bills and other expenses, this is to keep operations going”, said one dive operator.

They said most of the customers are Chinese. This week there were no customers that showed up and as a result, they have to sit all day and wait.

It was understood most Chinese tourists were discouraged by the hefty amount of fees which were passed by law recently.

No laws have been passed recently raising fees on tourists and operators couldn’t say what laws were affecting their customers.  The increase in the departure fee will take effect next year in April 2017. [/restrict]
