Overview:

Two Palauans are being celebrated for completing Australia Awards Scholarships that have equipped them with new skills and expertise to contribute to Palau’s future. Janine Tewid, who earned an Executive Master of Arts from the University of Melbourne, and Mizora Nakamura, a Bachelor of Psychological Science graduate from Griffith University, have returned home ready to apply their knowledge in leadership, tourism, community wellbeing and sustainable development.

After years of study and dedication, Ms Janine Tewid and Ms Mizora Nakamura have returned to Palau with new skills, knowledge and experience gained through the Australia Awards Scholarship program.

Janine Tewid

 Ms Janine Tewid graduated from the University of Melbourne with an Executive Master of Arts, specialising in leadership, policy engagement and cultural development. Her accomplishment highlights her commitment to strengthening her professional expertise and advancing sustainable development initiatives in Palau.

Ms Mizora Nakamura graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Psychological Science. As one of the first recipients of an Australia Awards Scholarship offered by the Australian Embassy in Palau since 2023, Ms Nakamura’s achievement is a testament to her dedication, perseverance and academic excellence.

Australia is proud to celebrate the achievements of Ms Tewid and Ms Nakamura and looks forward to the positive impact they will make in Palau.
