The Bureau of Youth, Applied Arts and Career of the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs (MCCA) is calling for all interested youth to participate in an Essay Contest and Artwork Contest in celebration of the 40th Belau-Constitution Day on July 9, 2020.

The Essay Contest under the theme of “A Kerdel a Uchetemel a Llach a Kerresel a Klechibelau er Kid” is open to Palauan youth ages 15 to 25 years old. The essay must be written and submitted in Palauan under the theme of the contest, and must be no less than 500 words. All essay entries must be submitted to the MCCA Office located at the Civic Center in Koror no later than Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

First place winner of the Essay Contest will receive a cash award of $250.00, second place is

$175.00, third place prize is $100.00, fourth place prize is $75.00 and fifth place prize is $50.00. The essay winner will also be given the opportunity to read their winning entry at the official function celebrating the 40th Belau-Constitution Day on July 9.

The Artwork Contest is open to Palauans citizens of all ages. Entries must be an artwork of the group photo of the first Framers of the Palau Constitution in a poster size of 24” x 30”. Artwork must be submitted to the MCCA Office located at the Civic Center in Koror no later than Friday, July 3, 2020.

First place winner of the Artwork Contest will receive a cash award of $250.00, second place is

$175.00, third place prize is $100.00, fourth place prize is $75.00 and fifth place prize is $50.00. The winning artwork will be displayed at the official function celebrating the 40th Belau- Constitution Day on July 9.
