July 10, 2016 (Ngaraard-Palau) A family fishing expedition turned terribly tragic when a boat carrying family of 4 overturned on the evening of July 9th, 2016 and all 4 family members died.  Jesse Edesomel of Ngkeklau hamlet, his wife Felisa Betty Ngirdengoll and their two young daughters, Dirratrei age 12 and Tracy age 11, were found dead in the water early Sunday morning.  No official cause of death is stated but it is assumed that all drowned.

According to reports, Jesse Edesomel was found first floating next to his overturned boat.  His wife was found shortly after him.  Both were found on both sides of the channel in front of Ngkeklau hamlet.  Their two daughters were found little later outside the entrance to the channel.

The family had gone fishing the day before and according to reports, had called in around 8pm that evening.  That was the last anyone heard of them until they were found the next day.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.

Jesse Edesomel is an employee of the Ministry of Finance and member of Ngaraard State Legislature.  His wife Betty Edesomel is an employee of the Bureau of Public Safety administration.  Their two daughters are students of Koror Elementary School.

The people of Ngaraard State are in shock over such terrible tragedy.  According to community members, the family is well-liked in the community and everyone is trying to cope with the news.[/restrict]
