March 20, 2017 (Koror, Palau) The Office of Attorney on March 6, 2017, charged Cepriano Jr. Caringal on charges of Trafficking in Controlled Substance and Possession of Controlled Substance, both felony charges.

According to the police affidavit, Cepriano Caringal had arranged with another person to sell methamphetamine “ice” that he had purchased in Taiwan and to share profits from the proceeds of the sale.

In a affidavit filed by Sergeant Virginia Umayam of the Bureau of Public Safety Narcotics Enforcement Agency, the person whom Caringal had arranged to sell drugs with had informed NEA officers that a Filipino male Cepriano Caringal had made arrangements with him to sell “ice” he bought from Taiwan and share profits with him.

According to the informant, the profit from the sale was supposed to be $1,000 dollars to be split between Caringal and himself.  The officers tracked the transaction and exchanged of money and arrested Caringal as he was leaving the site of the transaction.

The affidavit states that Caringal admitted to buying methamphetamine  or “ice” in Taiwan and transporting it to Palau to sell.

Possession of a Controlled Substance is a felony charge carrying penalty of not less than 3 years and no more than 7 years imprisonment. Trafficking a Controlled Substance carries a sentence of not less than 25 years imprisonment and no more than fifty years. [/restrict]
