Hosted by Palau Media Council and Palau Community College, the debate will bring the presidential candidates to debate current issues that greatly affect Palau.   The debate questions will focus in four sectors, economy, health/education, law and order and environment.

The purpose of the debate is to provide the candidates to express their policy direction in these key areas and to provide the voting public an opportunity to see and hear their candidates in one setting.

Enabling youth participation in public policy process, the debate will feature questions posed by young people to each of the candidates.  Questions are proposed by the students themselves to provide avenue for young people’s thoughts and concerns to be heard.

Of the four candidates, incumbent President Tommy Remengesau Jr., Senator Surangel Whipps Jr. and Vice President Tony Bells have confirmed to attend the debate.  Senator Sandra Pierantozzi is yet to confirm her attendance.[/restrict}
