December 14, 2017 – The Office of the President opened the first ever Children’s Christmas Program at the Capitol in Ngerulmud.

Minister Baklai Temengil-Chilton, Minister Umiich Sengebau, and Chief of Staff Secilil Eldebechel with over 500 in attendance lit up the Capitol Courtyard Christmas Tree with Santa and Mr. 3R delighting the kids with gifts, caroling, and Christmas fun.  [restrict] Families from all over Babeldaob gathered at our nation’s Capitol to see Christmas lights and decor on the entire Capitol compound.  It’s first time in Babeldaob, President Remengesau says “we will bring this event to Babeldaob every year so that our kids here can enjoy time with family and friends closer to home.”  The Office of the President would like to thank the Ngaraard Catholic Church Choir, Melekeok and Ngardmau Elementary Schools for Christmas Caroling and  the United States’ Civic Action Team for getting Santa to the Capitol all the way from the North Pole and for assisting with our Christmas event every year.  [/restrict]
