On March 11, 2022, the Palau Visitors Authority hosted the “Generation Ocean Challenge Bowl” at the Civic Center as part of its outreach program for the upcoming Our Ocean Conference. The event was an opportunity for the youth of Palau to participate in an educational extracurricular activity that centered around the six thematic areas of the Our Ocean Conference, which includes Climate Change, Maritime Security, Sustainable Fisheries, Marine Pollution, Sustainable Blue Economy, and Marine Protected Areas. The challenge bowl comprised of four teams (4 members each): Team Mesekiu, Team Aqua Squad, Team Seaspiders, and Team Noelani competing in two rounds. Each team did an outstanding job for both rounds, but ultimately Team Mesekiu took the win and placed first with Team Aqua Squad in second place, followed by Team Seaspiders in third place. Other than the cash prizes given to the winning teams, each participant was gifted a swag bag that included limited edition PVA merchandise.
