Life has been all in all normal with problems, storms, pain, suffering, joy, happiness, love, hate, fears, indifference, contentment, with its wants, temptations, triumphs, failures and victories. Life is difficult and yet we go through each day making choices hoping for something better abd beautiful.
I read a post on FB about divorces in rampant here in our homeland, followed with a solution. I hear about suicide, funeral announcements and lots of not so very good news. So I changed the course of my thoughts by listening to Andre Borcelli singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir the LORD’S Prayer. It was amazing … to let the music flow through my soul with ìts beauty bringing peace to my heart. I see beauty in everything and I see God’s love around me — the rain that cools the land and soften my heart. Push away the naysayers and the judges behind me and be that simple innocent child of God who is free to laugh and cry.
In McClean’s River RunsThrough It, he writes “In the glow of awakened memories of the deepest feelings where the heart is stirred, I’m reminded of a poet who sings,
Backward, O turn Backward
O time in your flight.
Make me a child again
Just for tonight.
Steve Brown is one of my favorite authors. He remind us that what’s so amazing about us human beings is: we have hope that no matter how broken we are, we get up, shake them dust off and take the next step without a map just trusting the invisible God. Brown says, “Love allows confession without demanding correction. Correction takes place within the context of the process, and the process is a lifelong journey finally culminating in my becoming like Christ. If immediate correction were demanded as soon as confession was given, I would never confess. But that’s not God’s way. When love is unconditional, confession is possible.”
The process always begins in the memories.
I know I can always sing a song. I can always write a song,
I can always listen to a song, I can think of a song or remember a song. If I want to sing I can always find a song. These are some of the treasures of my heart. To guard my heart — my true self, for this is where life is, I choose that which is lovely and good.
Jesus said, “What you say and do flow from the heart.” Luke 6:45
What’s in my heart?
