The Hokkaido International Exchange and Cooperation Center (HIECC) had donated five wheelchairs to the OMEKESANG Association and Palau Parents Empowered (PPE) during their visit in Palau on August 20.

HIECC, which brought a study group of eight high school students from Hokkaido, pushes for the GO! Fly! Wheelchairs campaign and had handed over the wheelchairs at the resource center of OMEKESANG Association and PPE in Meyuns, Koror State on August 20, 2018.

According to HIECC Senior Staff and chaperon Ms. Keiko Matsui, the students have conducted the GO! Fly! Wheelchairs outreach campaign for 20 years delivering more than 2,800 wheelchairs to 80 countries and territories with their ultimate goal of putting smiles of relief on persons especially children with disabilities.

Their first visit to Palau is the result of President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr.’s recent visit to Hokkaido. (PR)
