Porto, Portugal – November 15, 2024 – Hila Asanuma, the current President of the Chelechad ra Barebor dba Volleyball Federation of Palau and Gender in Minority Representative of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), has been elected to the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Board of Administration. The election took place this afternoon in Porto, Portugal, where Hila secured a four year term from 2024 to 2028.
Hila’s remarkable journey to the FIVB Board began as the nominee of the Oceania Zone Volleyball Association (OZVA), where she also serves as an Executive Board Member. OZVA endorsed her candidacy to the AVC, which in turn propelled her to the global stage of FIVB. This achievement reflects the unity and strength of the volleyball family in Oceania and Asia, who championed her nomination and secured broad support from FIVB member National Federations.
