Koror, Palau — Minister Charles Obichang of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Industries, and Commerce (MPIIC), Kayangel State Governor Midas Ngiracheluolu and PPUC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kione J. Isechal convened and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the installation a new Hybrid Power Generator in Kayangel state.
The main advantage of this hybrid system is a reduction in operating costs of 50 to 85 per cent, combined with a reduction in carbon emissions of 48 to 80 per cent when compared with continuous diesel powered generators.
They only need to run for a fraction of the time, reducing fuel consumption, emissions and maintenance requirements.
According to PPUC Power Generation Division (PGD) Manager Tito Cabunangan, this new generator will increase energy availability in the state of Kayangel from 60kw/h to 150kw/h. Average usage during peak hours in the state is 35kw/h daily. (PR)
