The Vice President of the Taiwanese foreign trade promotion company, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), said he will use his influence to encourage China Airlines to further increase flights to Palau.

TAITRA Vice Chairman Suo-Hang Chuang, during the first day of their trade and investment mission in Palau on August 12, said that as an executive of one of the biggest foreign trade promotion group in Taiwan, he will use his influence to urge China Airlines to increase its flights from four times a week to five times a week.

“The way you promote your tourism is worthy of admiration. I try my best effort to promote tourism between Taiwan and Palau,” Chuang said.

Chuang revealed that their company had received a direct instruction from Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen to help improve trade relationship with Palau and encourage Taiwanese businessmen to invest here.

TAITRA embarked on a first investment and trade mission in Palau from August 12-14 and provide local businessmen opportunities to conduct business matching with their Taiwanese counterparts.

The company will also conduct the same trade mission in the Republic of Marshall Islands from August 14-18 and in Nauru from August 18-20.  (By Rhealyn C. Pojas)
