He spoke and they came to be.  He saw them and declared, “It is good.”

I remember visiting

Amherst, Massachusetts in the early ’80s.  It was an experience well etched in my memory for its magnificent autumn colors. It was chilly too.  But, Oh! The colors of the leaves of trees were amazingly and unbelievably beautiful. A rengud engmla tmaut a ngau ra bital ked. Red, orange, yellow and maybe peach and light brown.  It was the first time I saw colorful trees that kept me in awe. WOW!

Eventually all the leaves fell to the ground as winter approached.

The whole scene was a poem in itself.

I visited the Homestead, the home Emily Dickinson, the poet.  She is one of the most important figures in American literature.  I was fascinated by this historical figure.

What a beautiful country.

Lately it’s been raining

here with strong winds in Palau.

Today I looked out and noticed how clean the leaves of the trees are.  They’ve been washed in the and dried by the wind.  I thought of how life is as such.  Storms come to wash our lives and renew our minds as we face another season.

So let the rain come

Let the wind blow

Let the sea roar

To wash and refresh the reefs and renew our minds

To stand up

Unafraid.
