The Government of Ngeremlengui State created Ngeremlengui State Scholarship (NSS) to support its young people in reaching their educational goals. This is the 8th year that the Palau National Scholarship Board has helped in administering the scholarship program following established qualifying criteria.
The eligibility criteria require the recipient to be a recent high school senior/graduate from Ngeremlengui State, with at least one parent who is a registered voter of Ngeremlengui. The student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and must have been accepted to a post-secondary institution. As a recipient of NSS, the student shall receive a one-time award of $1,000.00 paid at the beginning of fall semester. Mr. Mayse K. Iyechad was chosen as this school year’s 2024-2025 scholarship recipient.
Iyechad is a recent Belau Modekngei School graduate who is currently pursuing his degree in culinary – tourism & hospitality at the Palau Community College. PNSB Vice-Chairperson Joseph Anastacio witnessed the scholarship check being presented by Vice-Speaker Elvira Franz of the Ngeremlengui State Legislature to the recipient, Mr. Mayse K. Iyechad.
