Through the help of Japan Embassy, Some members of Japan’s self-defense squadron had a sparring practice with Palau Judo Federation on October 8 that took place in the national gym at 6:30 PM. Led by Jen Anson, both the groups engaged in various judo techniques and exercises. The learning experience is a cultural exchange between the two countries.
This judo event along with some more activities during the week was meant to strengthen diplomatic ties and bonds between Japan and Palau. After all the activities are over, Japan will set depart Palau at October 11 to continue on with their cruise.
During these past few months, several Japanese officers including those that were newly appointed embarked on the Overseas Training Cruise. Where they will set sail and visit various countries in hopes that they will benefit from their training at sea, broaden their perspective, and promote friendly relations with these countries that they visit.
