JICA, in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture, Fishery and Environment, a new project on Development of Fruit Fly Control System for Promoting Fruit Production & Marketing will commence. Mr. KOBAYASHI Ryutaro, Chief Representative JICA Palau Office, and Minister Steven Victor, MAFE, have signed the Record of Discussion for the project implementation.
The project aims to establish model cases for the control fruit flies and increase production of fruits by sending various experts with experience and knowledge from Okinawa where eradication of fruit fly was successful and at the same time utilizing new technology.
The project welcomes the Palauan community to participate and work together for increased awareness of identification of fruit fly control as well as strengthening the increment of production of fruits to tackle food security in Palau. JICA and MAFE would like to request the public’s cooperation to implement each activity effectively and smoothly as one team.
