(Koror, Palau) Koror State Legislature passed a resolution urging the national government to move the Belau National Hospital from Meyuns to a new site within Koror. The resolution cites the hospital’s aging infrastructure and its location in an allegedly unsafe area.
While advocating for a relocation, the resolution specifically proposes other potential sites such Ngermid or other reclaimed land within Koror as potential sites, suggesting the current hospital’s location is better suited for a baseball field.
The resolution also argues that Koror’s central location makes it ideal for the national hospital.
The resolution also calls for discussions between Koror State and the national government to determine the most suitable location for the Belau National Hospital.
Koror isn’t the only state vying for the relocated hospital. Ngatpang and Airai states have already passed similar resolutions offering their land.
