A deeply religious woman, generous, genuine, devoted Christian, wife, mother and community member, characterizes late Honorable Changeina Masang, wife of former Senator Sam Masang and Honorary Consul for the Federated States of Micronesia.
Late Changeina Masang, who was recently called to her eternal rest on September 4th, 2020, was an active member of Palau’s community, serving and contributing to many worthy causes and events.
She was an active member of Ekei Women’s Club, member of Palau Evangelical Church, PEC Choir, PEC Women’s Prayer Group, Palau Rotary Club and Ngarachamayong women’s organization of Koror.
Prior to meeting her husband Masang, she attended schools in Chuuk, and Trust Territory School of Nursing in Saipan where she earned her nursing diploma in 1973.
She married Masang in 1972 and moved to Palau where she served as a nurse at the Macdonald Memorial Hospital for 26 years, resigning in 1995 to help oversee their family business.
She had actively participated in and contributed to the social advancement of Palau and the preservation of Palau’s culture and traditions.
A funeral is held for her today and her contributions will be well remembered by a grateful nation.
