Overview:

Love the water and passionate about working with youth? Palau Aquatics is offering a unique opportunity to become a certified Community Aquatics Facilitator, helping expand swim training and aquatic sports across Palau’s communities. With limited spots available for the March 23–27 training, participants can gain the skills to teach swimming safely while supporting local athletes ahead of the upcoming Belau Games.

Palau Aquatics Has an Opportunity For You

There are still a few places available in the Community Aquatics Facilitator training scheduled for March 23-27. The training leads toward certification of instructors to teach swimming and lead aquatic sports in the community. This is a new initiative to expand the number of certified swim instructors and coaches so that communities can have flexibility in scheduling swim training according to their own schedules while reducing the need to travel into Koror for training. With Belau Games coming up in July, this is an opportunity for states and communities to recruit and train their own swimmers in the commun by the community.

Training gets underway at 8:30 AM on Monday, March 23 at the Meyuns swimming pool complex and will continue throughout the week. Participants need to be comfortable in the water but do not need to have high level swimming skills. The course will teach participants the skills they need to teach safely and effectively.
