Once again, the Scholarship Office staff visited the MHS seniors on Friday, the 14th of January to go over the PNSB Financial Assistance Request Form in preparation for the months ahead as they are finishing high school and making plans to go to college. They were reminded that as Palauans, they are very fortunate because the leaders of Palau believe in higher education and they continue to support the PNSB programs. Each year, over 1.8 million is appropriated for scholarship programs. In addition to that, 50% of foreign worker fees and permit fees goes toward PNSB programs as well. Therefore, each Palauan student is encouraged to pursue her college degree and take advantage of these government sponsored financial programs. At the same time, Palauans are eligible for the US Federal PELL Grant and SEOG which can also help pay for college education. On the other hand, if students are considering colleges in Taiwan then, Taiwan Government Scholarships are now open and applications are available for students to begin applying for Taiwan Scholarships. Scholarship Specialist Marsha Suzuki reminded the seniors to gather the necessary paperwork such as certified birth certificates and valid Palau passports because the scholarship programs are now opening up. Always be on the lookout for PNSB advertisements. Check out the PNSB website: www.pnsb.org and like the Palau National Scholarship Office Facebook page to stay updated with the latest information.
