He recently assisted with an operation that saved the leg of a patient who had been involved in a car accident. Along with Dr. Glenda Santos, Dr. Rolando Zamudio, and the Operating Room (OR) Team Lead Wolcatt Erungel, Dr. Schorr was able to brace the injured leg with external metal pins & a bar without additional pressure or damage to the fractured area.
The procedure stabilized the patient’s leg & general condition and kept the limb from being severed.
Dr. Schorr’s expertise is an asset to Palau’s healthcare system. Besides treating trauma patients, Dr. Schorr works in the Outpatient Department (OPD) where he closely examines patients’ history & test results to verify the necessity of operation & determine proper procedures.
On behalf of the community of Palau, MOH welcomes Dr. Schorr as well as his wife and children. He will be serving as Orthopedic Surgeon at the Belau National Hospital for a year. [/restrict]
