A new legal counsel for the House of Delegates, a French national, Ms. Charlotte Ruzzica de La Chaussee, was sworn-in yesterday by Associate Justice Materne.

Ms. Ruzzica de la Chaussee specializes in International Public Law and Human Rights and has experience in International Arbitration work.

According to her resume, Ms. Ruzzica de la Chaussee holds a Master’s in Public International Law and European Law from the University of Paris and LL.M (Master of Laws) Degree from Cornell Law School.

Some of her latest legal experiences include working with a legal team at International Criminal Court, The Hauge, and working as a trainee lawyer in London for Brown Rudnick LLP in the International Arbitration Department. She had also worked with the Clinical Program in International Human Rights Law at Cornell Law School in the United States.

She is a member of the New York Bar and Palau Bar and a member of ABA International Law Section-International Courts Committee and American Society of International law.
