KOROR, Palau — George B. Harris Elementary School, the second-largest public elementary school in Palau, has a new leader with ambitious plans to strengthen academics and ensure no student falls behind.

Romson Remoket, recently appointed as principal, said his top priority is raising student achievement, particularly in math and English, while encouraging progress across all subjects.

“Our focus is to help our children improve their skills in math and English, while also motivating them across all other subjects,” Remoket said.

He also emphasized the importance of parent engagement. “We maintain good communication with our students’ parents so they are well-informed about their children’s progress and can support them with their homework,” he said.

Remoket’s broader vision centers on steady academic progress for all students. “I want every child to receive the education they need to be successful,” he said.

In addition to academics, Remoket is addressing staffing challenges at the school. “Another goal for this year is to ensure the school is fully staffed with professional teachers. I am working to fill all vacancies and provide the school with the support it needs to succeed,” he said.

With his plans to strengthen instruction, boost communication, and secure qualified staff, Remoket said he hopes to guide George B. Harris Elementary School toward a stronger future.
