The newly published book now approved and accepted into the Ministry of Education Curriculum Framework and actively used from grades 3rd to 8th grade in the public school system, is a major milestone for PCS and Palau’s education system.  Palau Conservation Society is also proud to highlight the use of scientific references in the book are results of research from our own Palau International Coral Reef Center and other locally based institutions to include the Coral Reef Research Foundation and the Nature Conservancy Palau Field Office.

If you were a fifth grader between 2006 and 2015, you would remember Yalap Yalap of PCS visiting your classroom and giving the Ridge To Reef Road Show presentation.  Ten years later the concept born from the road show, culminated in the Ridge to Reef Handbook and Teachers Guide.

The development and production of the text book and teachers guide were made possible through grant awards to Palau Conservation Society from the Keidenran Nature Fund of Japan and the University of Guam US Sea Grant Program, and with the hard work of PCS staff with teachers and MOE officials to make it happen.

Palau Conservation Society continues to work with our education system to ensure, Palauan children are provided enhanced learning of their own natural environment connecting to how it shapes our culture, lifestyle, values, and unique self-identity. [/restrict]
