(Koror, Palau)  Attorney General charged Kalany Kyota for Possession of Controlled Substance, a felony charge, on July 12, 2016.

On February 4, 2016, police officers executed a warrant of arrest for Jeolory Sulial Ngirmechaet.   Upon According to an affidavit filed by Sergeant Virginia Umayam of the Bureau of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Taskforce, when the officers pulled over the vehicle driven by Ngirmechaet, Mr. Kalany Kyota was inside as a passenger.

According to police affidavit, the vehicle was taken to the police station to be searched.  Crystalline substance was found in the vehicle which later was tested positive for methamphetamine “ICE”.  During the search, a pipe and a crystalline substance was found in the possession of Kalany Kyota.

Item was weighed to be .07 grams and was tested positive as methamphetamine or Ice.

The charge is a Class C felony with imprisonment term of one year with 9 months suspended and requirement to undergo counseling and random drug testing. [/restrict]
