KOROR, Palau (Jan. 24, 2025) – Ngatpang State marked the 43rd anniversary of its Constitution with a commemorative event held at Ming’s Restaurant in the Palasia Hotel. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., state leaders, constitutional framers, and community members gathered to honor the milestone and reflect on the state’s governance journey.
The celebration served as a moment to acknowledge the progress achieved since the adoption of the constitution, which established a framework for self-governance and democratic principles in Ngatpang.
Governor Jersey Iyar encouraged unity and innovation in improving the constitution. “Let’s work together during this time to think of more solutions to improve our constitution,” he said.
Delegate Francisca Otong emphasized the importance of collaboration and forward-thinking. “As we look toward drafting the next chapter of our constitution, let us embrace new ideas and work together to build a stronger Ngatpang,” she remarked.
Legislator Jerry Nabeyama highlighted the enduring significance of the constitution. “Our constitution represents years of hard work. One day, our children will look back on it as a foundation for progress. Let us continue to improve it for future generations,” he said.
The event underscored the ongoing commitment of state leaders to foster an inclusive environment where every citizen’s voice shapes the state’s development and future progress.
