In loving memory of my grandmother, a true cornerstone of warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her love was as tangible as the scent of fresh-baked bread wafting through her kitchen, a reminder of her steadfast belief that God’s love was meant to be shared. She didn’t just bake; she crafted moments, memories, and connections in every pie, loaf, and cookie. Her home was a place where everyone was always welcome, and a shared meal meant more than just food, it was an invitation to be part of her heart and to experience her faith in action.
Baking was her language of love, and her faith was the foundation. She was a woman who lived by the scripture, and her joy in serving others was a reflection of the joy she found in her relationship with God. Her life was filled with prayer and hymns, and her voice still lingers in my memory as we would sing together in church.
As I honor her memory, I hold close the lessons she taught me – to pray with an open heart, to give with a willing hand, and to carry my faith into every part of life. Kindness, I learned, is in the small things: in warm ovens and open doors, in sharing what we have with others, and in lifting others up with a humble, prayerful spirit. May her legacy live on in every warm meal shared, in every Sabbath hymn sung, and in every prayer whispered in faith. She may no longer be with us, but her spirit fills our hearts, just as her baking (and her faith) filled our lives with sweetness and grace.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mommy! Thank you for your legacy of kindness, faith, and love that continues to shape our lives. We love you and carry you with us always.
