Not everything is about you.

Not everything is about me.

I rarely visit the Palau Forum except when I feel the need to post an opinion on a subject. It seems my opinion was not treated as such to some and I felt attacked for having an opinion. Furthermore, some started attacking each other by name calling and labeling.

It was quite toxic. I couldn’t get out fast enough.

Toxic traits are negative behaviors or characteristics that can harm oneself and others. They can create tension, discomfort, and unhappiness in relationships.

It seemed to me that we all need to learn to be more objective and not take everything so personal as if one wanted to rob your house and burn it down.

Objective means verifiable information based on facts and evidence. Subjective means information or perspectives based on feelings, opinions, or emotions.

Objective and subjective are two common—and commonly confused—words used to describe, among other things, information and perspectives

Something is subjective when it’s based on a person’s personal feelings, opinions, or tastes, rather than on facts. Subjective views are often influenced by a person’s biases, perceptions, emotions, imagination, or conscious experience.

Here are some examples of subjectivity:

Color perception: What you see as red might be orange or peach to someone else.

Art taste: Taste in art is a subjective matter.

Subjective truth is an oxymoron; objective truth is redundant. Subjective truth is feathers in a wind tunnel, blowing anywhere and everywhere. Objective truth is an anvil, bolted to the floor of the wind tunnel. Subjective truth is your truth and my truth; objective truth is Jesus Christ.
