The October 2022 arrivals increased compared to the same month last year.
October was also a month when Palau loosen further travel restrictions by allowing unvaccinated travelers to come into the country.
According to the Palau Visitors Arrival (PVA) visitors arrival statistics, there were 1178 visitors.
Palau continues to enjoy visitors from the United States and Canada with 658 arrivals, Japan is a distant second with 147, and Europe visitors in third with 85.
“For the month of October 2022, visitor arrivals to Palau (excluding residents, students, employments, flight crews, and transits) totaled 1,178, representing an increase of 80% compared to October 2021 with 653 arrivals and an increase of 26% compared to last month,” the report stated.
It further added USA/Canada remains the leading market representing 56% of arrivals, followed by Others with 18%, then Japan representing 12% of arrivals.
The report said October was also the month when United Airlines increased its service from Palau to six times a week, with five UA flights arriving from Guam and one UA flight from the Philippines. (Island Times)
