“There is hope even when your brain tells you there isn’t” — John Green

Mental health is a person’s overall well-being that includes their emotional, psychological, and social health. It’s an important part of a person’s quality of life and overall health, and it affects how they think, feel, and act. Mental health is important at every stage of life.

In my own words I’d say mental health is seeing things as they are and not as you see, feel, and think they should be. It’ll save you a lot of headaches and unnecessary stressful collisions and arguments.  They just are.  You stay within your boundaries.

Ngdiak el belkul a kmo ke blached.  As a matter of fact we are all broken and it would help to understand life as broken.  It’s easier to forgive those who hurt us because of the fact that we are all broken. Like a broken glass that can cut another person closeby by making a wrong move or inappropriate and unkind words that cause bleeding.  When we know that mental health is a good thing we stop being ashamed of our brokenness. We then feel free to pursue mental health through inner healing of deep wounds. This is where forgiveness gets to be vital tool for mental health.

I think of a good mental health like doing laundry.  We sort out colors from whites and fabric types before washing then dry with a fabric softener to eliminate static and leave a touch of freshness. We fold them nicely and separate for each individual in your household. Then we put in drawers for easy access and use.

When your mind is muddled with dirt of a wounded grievances you’ve kept there for years you can  unconsciously react that results in chaos because we hear chaotic noises. Like dirty unsorted laundry instead of white shirt, everything is  pink.because a red shirt was with whites.  Everything’s pink.

You are not alone in your journey towards better mental health. You are capable of managing your mental health and living a fulfilling life. You are deserving of love and compassion, especially from yourself everyday.

Always remember that what is most personal is most general.  We are not so different than we are the same.
