July 3, 2017 (Koror, Palau) As of last week, 1,000 educators have registered for the upcoming 30th Pacific Educational Conference with 393 coming from off island, according to Minister Sinton Soalablai of the Ministry of Education.


“This number is as of this week and we are still receiving registrations. More will still be coming from off island.  The issue now is the airline connection but we expect more to register before the event,” added Minister Soalablai of the one of the largest conferences to be held in Palau from July 17-21, 2017.

The event will feature numerous workshops, presentations, exhibitions and plenary sessions.  Last 2015 event had 110 workshops 7 plenary sessions.

“Our educators will learn from successes of others and will also share our successes such as Palauan language curriculum,” reported Soalablai.

Palau teachers and educators have been working for the past months to prepare and also raise funds for the event.

The event is co-hosted by the Republic of Palau – Ministry of Education, the Palau Community College, and Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL). [/restrict]
