Many of the projects included in this report are 2015 projects that were finally getting implemented. “These projects were greatly delayed due to late approval from funding agency to put them to advertisement,” stated the report.

According to Melairei, there is a notable increase in locally funded projects for this period and their office is fully engaged with assisting State governments, Judiciary Branch and Ministries that have their own funding support.

“We anticipate that these projects will overlap with the implementation of 2016 stimulus projects,” added Melairei.

Expected construction projects for 2016 include 2016 ROC stimulus projects, $28m ADB funded Sewage Improvement Project, $14m Japan-funded Water System Improvement Project, Japan-funded new Marine Resource Building and the Japan-funded Marine Law Enforcement and Docking Facilities. [/restrict]
