KOROR, Palau – With less than five months until the Pacific Mini Games, the Palau Games Organizing Committee is hosting a Chef de Mission (CdM) meeting from Feb. 23 to Feb. 25, bringing together 34 team managers from across Oceania, along with members of the Pacific Games Council Executive Board.

The delegates here include Chef de Mission from Cook Islands, Wallis and Futuna, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tahiti, Vanuatu, Samoa, American Samoa, New Caledonia, Niue, Tuvalu, Nauru, the Marshall Islands, New Zealand, Kiribati, and Norfolk Island.

The three-day meeting included site visits to schools designated as team accommodations, inspections of sports facilities, and discussions with sports managers on the Games operations. Delegates also met with the Palau Games Organizing Committee to review key logistical aspects such as transportation, accommodations, meals, accreditation, and general event management.

Palau Games Organizing Committee Chairman Patrick Tellei, collaborating with the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) office and committee members, seeks to ensure a well-organized event aiming to improve from the last Mini Games Palau hosted in 2005.

The Chef de Mission meeting began on Sunday with visits to school venues, continuing through Monday and concluding today, Tuesday, Feb. 25.
