Palau and the United Arab Emirates ( UAE) last week signed an air services agreement.
Minister of State Gustav Aitaro and the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority ( GCAA) Director-General inked the air service agreement.
According to news coming from UAE,” the agreement’s signing is part of the UAE’s efforts to adopt an open skies policy to regulate air travel between the two countries, which will help create new commercial and tourism opportunities.”
Al Suwaidi has vowed commitment to strengthening relationship with Palau and the air service agreement will be finalized soon.
Earlier this year, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with President Surangel Whipps Jr. to discuss bilateral relations.
Among the topics discussed are environmental protection and renewable energy, as well as the UAE’s efforts in this regard, especially with its hosting of the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) this year at Expo City Dubai.
Whipps has said it looks forward to establishing cooperation with the UAE in all fields, praising the UAE’s pioneering efforts in global climate action and its hosting of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, and its stellar preparations to host COP28 later this year.
