On Saturday December 7, 2019 Palau Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual December Gala at Carp Island Resort.

This event started with a beautiful boat ride through the Rock Islands before sunset to Carp Island Resort, and a welcome drink upon arrival on the island.

The stunning sunset, the homemade bamboo torches, fairy lights and the bonfire on the beach created a breathtaking atmosphere for the evening, that was complemented by Mr. Malo Paulis playing ballads with his acoustic guitar.

The dinner was prepared by the staff at Carp Island Resort and was a flavorful taste itinerary through Palauan cuisine, with locally sourced ingredients and recipes. The desserts were a sampling of traditional Italian cakes and creams, provided by L’Amarena Gelato Shop. Shimbros International and its staff made sure everyone had their drink to complement the dinner.

The entire event followed the current trend of sustainability and conservation, being a totally plastic free event, with locally made decorations, woven plates, reusable cutlery and coconut and bamboo cups.

Thanks to the kindness of its members, PCOC was able to organize both a raffle and a silent auction with amazing prizes for the Guests.

The evening moved forward with some dances in collaboration with the contestants of the Miss Independence Palau 2019 pageant, and it concluded with a scenic finale with the lighting of sky lanterns that lit up the entire sky.
