Koror, Palau – PCS Extends Heartfelt Appreciation for a Successful PCS Day Fair and 32nd Anniversary Celebration
Koror, Palau — The Palau Conservation Society (PCS) extends its deepest appreciation to all partners, stakeholders, donors, members, volunteers, and community members who joined us for the PCS Day Fair on June 11, 2026. Your support made this celebration of our 32nd Anniversary truly meaningful.
A total of 180 attendees participated throughout the day, and PCS proudly welcomed over 10 new members into our conservation family. The event highlighted more than three decades of conservation achievements and community partnerships dedicated to protecting Palau’s natural and cultural heritage.
The Fair was designed to strengthen community engagement and share updates on PCS’s work over the past year, including efforts in protected area management, invasive species control, environmental education, climate adaptation, and ecosystem restoration. Interactive booths, displays, and family-friendly activities—made possible through the generous support of our partners—created a vibrant space for learning, connection, and community participation.
PCS Chairman TJ Imrur Remengesau opened the event by honoring the founders, board, staff, and partners who have shaped PCS since 1994. In his remarks, he emphasized the responsibility we all share to protect “our unique natural resources, Beluad ma Debed [Land and Ocean] because it is Our Legacy and Our Future.”
A highlight of the program was a special reflection by Founder and current Board Member Sandra Sumang Pierantozzi, who delivered the history of PCS—its humble beginnings, growth, and accomplishments over 32 years. Her remarks grounded the celebration in the organization’s origins and enduring mission.
Another meaningful moment came with a significant donation from the family of the late PCS Founder Juan Polloi. On behalf of the Polloi family, Ms. Lynn Polloi presented a contribution of $132, renewing their commitment to PCS and preserving the legacy of their late beloved founder. This gesture honored his vision and reaffirmed the family’s continued support for the conservation values he helped establish.
PCS extends special thanks to all partners, government agencies, businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters whose contributions made the Fair possible. The anniversary celebration concluded with closing remarks from PCS Vice Chairman King Sam, who expressed deep appreciation to all partners, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for making the inaugural PCS Fair Day a success. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to address environmental challenges and ensure a sustainable future for Palau.
As PCS celebrates 32 years of conservation leadership, we remain committed to working hand-in-hand with communities and partners to ensure a sustainable, resilient future for Palau.
