The Palau Conservation Society (PCS) hosted a special presentation on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the Palau High School Multipurpose Building, aimed at strengthening its partnership with The Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP). The event, led by Heather Ketebengang, PCS Community and Outreach Program Manager, emphasized the critical role of environmental stewardship in preserving Palau’s unique biodiversity. Over 100 participants attended, showing a strong commitment to conservation efforts.

The event began with welcoming remarks from PCS Executive Director, Elbuchel Sadang, who expressed his gratitude to The Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP) for their time and active participation. He also acknowledged their invaluable contributions to Palauan society, noting their dedication to hard work, supporting families, and fostering economic growth.

Additionally, Marie Jane Salvador, a Board Member of The Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP), shared her appreciation for PCS’s efforts. She stated, “We give thanks to PCS for opening doors and welcoming The Filipino Community in Palau. We have learned so much and truly appreciate your genuine gesture. Thank you for considering TFCP as ‘Friends of PCS.’ Together, let’s protect Palau’s natural pristine environment.”

With a significant Filipino presence in Palau, PCS recognizes the importance of engaging this community in conservation efforts. The presentation provided an opportunity to introduce PCS’s mission and the various ways individuals can contribute to environmental protection. By partnering with PCS, the Filipino community can play a crucial role in sustainable resource management and environmental stewardship.

This year’s theme, “Beluad ma Debed: Protecting Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” serves as a call to action for all who call Palau home. PCS invites The Filipino Community to be active participants in conservation initiatives. Through collaboration and shared responsibility, we can ensure the preservation of Palau’s natural beauty for future generations. (Paid Advertisement)
