KOROR, Palau — The Palau Evangelical Church School System (PECSS) raised $24,927.30 during a recent fundraiser held on October 11, with donations still being accepted. The event took place at the Emmaus-Bethania High School campus and featured raffle drawings, entertainment, and a light lunch.

The fundraiser marked the first anniversary of the school’s endowment trust fund, with all proceeds contributing to the fund aimed at strengthening the financial stability of PECSS. Attendees received raffle tickets in exchange for their donations.

The PECSS is overseen by a seven-member board of trustees and manages both Gospel Kindergarten and Emmaus-Bethania High School. The high school was formed in 2016 through the merger of the former all-boys Emmaus School and all-girls Bethania School.

In line with PECSS’s master plan, the school system launched its first grade this September, with the class located at the Emmaus Gospel Kindergarten campus. According to PECSS Board Chairman Salvador Remoket, the plan is to expand the system into a full kindergarten through eighth-grade school over the next eight years. A new grade will be added each year until the elementary school is fully established.
