KOROR, Palau — The 2025 BIIAA 5K Cross Country Championship was held on October 15, bringing together five high schools from across Palau, including both public and private institutions. The competition featured the top 10 runners from each school competing on a course starting near the Palau Pacific Resort hut and finishing at the Palau track and field complex.
Kraven Ngirchomlei finished first among male runners, with Peace Adaba taking second place and Garrett Welge placing third. In the team standings, Palau High School claimed first place, followed by Palau Mission Academy, Midzenty High School, Belau Modekngei School, and Emmaus Bethania High School.
Palau High School secured the 2025 BIIAA cross country season championship, supported by strong performances from key athletes. Notably, siblings Kraven Ngirchomlei and his sister Kiralynn Ngirchomlei finished as the top male and female runners respectively.
Coaches actively encouraged their teams while athletes refreshed themselves with drinks and sandwiches after the race.
Objectives of the 5K Cross Country Championship
● Foster healthy competition and athletic development among Palauan youth. ● Encourage participation from both public and private high schools. ● Promote endurance sports and outdoor activity in the community. ● Strengthen school spirit and unity through interscholastic rivalry. ● Highlight outstanding individual and team performances in cross-country running.
The 2025 BIIAA 5K Cross Country Championship showcased the talent and dedication of Palau’s young athletes, culminating in a strong season victory for Palau High School. The event supports the development of track and field sports in Palau and celebrates the achievements of all participating schools.
