(Koror, Palau) A Presidential Proclamation 16-191 orders all flags to be flown half mast in honor of late Delegate J. Schwartz Tudong of Ngardmau State, who passed away on October 24, 2016.

The proclamation recognizes the various contributions that late Delegate Tudong contributed to his home state of Ngardmau as well as to the Republic.

Former delegate has served in various capacities over his lifetime including serving as Director of Peace Corps in Palau, Public Information Officer for Sixth Palau Legislature, Researcher for the House of Delegates in the First OEK, Vice President of Ngardmau State Constitutional Convention, as Governor of Ngardmau State in 2002 and as a Delegate representing his State of Ngardmau during the Second and the Fourth Olbiil Era Kelulau.  He also held the traditional title of Kmedrang of Ngardmau State until his death.

House of Delegates also adopted a resolution honoring their former colleague on November 4, 2016.

Late Kmedrang J. Schwartz Tudong is survived by his wife Dirraiuekei Ces Ikeyasang, his children and his siblings and family.

Funeral for late Delegate Tudong will be held on November 11, 2016 in Ngardmau State. [/restrict]
