February 7, 2018 (Koror, Palau)- Palau is now in a midst of a construction boom with over $130 million in active construction project, says Public Works & CIP Director Brian Melairei during a press conference held at the Office of the President on Wednesday.
Melairei said that over $47 million are in State and national capital improvement projects. These include connecting roads in Ngchesar, Ngatpang, Ngeremlengui, Ngaraard and Aimeliik.

Other projects include water distribution lines, re-paving roads, building public parks, state buildings, solar projects, secondary water filtration projects, road lighting and signage, national correctional facility and others.
Other major projects include water improvement project worth $18 million, new marine resource facility worth $6 million, both of which were donated by Japan government.
There is also a Koror-Airai Sewer Project funded by ADB, maritime support donated by Nippon Foundation and Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
Other sources of funds for these projects include government of the Republic of China-Taiwan, New Zealand, European Union, US FAA, UAE, Asian Development Bank and local revenue through national appropriation. [/restrict]
