KOROR, Palau – Palauan athletes enjoyed a successful opening week at the Micro Games in the Marshall Islands, collecting a total of 26 medals, 1 gold, 17 silver, and 7 bronze medals.

The first medals haul came in the 3×3 men’s basketball competition, where Palau secured a silver medal after facing Guam.

Palau’s Aquatics Team was the star performer, contributing significantly to the medal count. Dirrengulbai Misech led the way with a gold medal in the Women’s 200 Butterfly event. Her teammates added a combined 7 silver and 8 bronze medals across various swimming disciplines.

    • Men’s 4×50 Medley Relay (Kazu, Jion, Charlie, Travis)
    • Men’s 50 Butterfly (Jion)
    • Women’s 200 Freestyle (UB)
    • Men’s 100 Backstroke (Kazu)
  • Bronze:
    • Men’s 50 Butterfly (Travis)
    • Women’s 50 Butterfly (UB)
    • Men’s 200 Freestyle (Travis)

The 136-member Palauan delegation, which includes 28 officials such as coaches, managers, media personnel, medical staff and technical officials, will compete across 13 sports at the Micro Games. These sports include athletics, aquatics, basketball (3×3 and 5×5 for men only), beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, micro all around (men only), softball (women only), spearfishing (men only), table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling.
