(May 21, 2025, Press Release) The Palau Media Council has elected Ms. Leilani Reklai as its new president during its annual general membership meeting on May 21, 2025. Reklai, previously a board director, succeeds Kambes Kesolei and will lead the organization for the next two years.
Expressing gratitude for the confidence placed in her, Reklai emphasized the importance of unity and progress within the media community.
“I’m deeply honored by the trust my fellow media colleagues have placed in me. Now more than ever, it’s vital that we support one another, strengthen our organization, and continue growing as independent voices for our communities. While challenges lie ahead, so do meaningful opportunities — and over the next two years, I look forward to working with all of you to meet them and move forward together,” PMC President Reklai said.
Joining Reklai in the leadership team are re-elected Vice President Jill Senior and Treasurer Janiz Ruetinag, alongside newly appointed Secretary Eustoria Marie Borja. They will serve in their respective roles until 2027.
Additionally, Ngewakl Soaladaob and outgoing president Kambes Kesolei have been named as new directors, further strengthening the council’s governance.
