Koror, Palau – Palau’s Men’s 4×200 meter freestyle relay team splashed to a silver medal finish at the 2024 Oceania Swimming Championships held this week at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Southport, Queensland, Australia.

The competition took place from April 21st to 24th and featured athletes from across the Pacific region. Representing Palau were swimmers Jion Hosei, Charlie Gibbons, Yuri Hosei, Galyah Mikel, Kazuumi Nestor, and Shawn Wallace, coached by Jimmy Jonas.
This isn’t the first time on the international stage for Yuri Hosei, Galyah Mikel, Jion Hosei, and Travis Sakurai. The quartet previously competed in two World Aquatics Championships.
On a separate note, the Palau Aquatics Federation recently joined the World Aquatics Federation. The organization’s president, Judy Otto, serves as an Oceania representative on the World Aquatics governing board.
