March 27, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Palau Swim Team returned home last night to be greeted by their family and friends after a week of successful competition in Saipan.

A total of SIX National Records were broken up here in Saipan during the Saipan International Meet this past week.

Shae got his first official individual record in the 100 Breaststroke breaking the great Anlloyd Samuel’s record by a full second with a very fast 1:18.30.

Also, Noel absolutely destroyed his own 400 Freestyle record by six plus seconds with a solid 4:33.82. He also missed Shawn’s record by a half a second with a 27.3 in the 50 free.

The “Iron Lady” award goes to Osisang who swam the 400 Free (missed her NR by 0.04) with a 5:10.58, then minutes later just missed the 400 IM record (by 0.80) while getting a personal best with a 6:16.83, then just after that turns around just 5 minutes later, and wins the 200 Freestyle. That is a solid triple crown if I have ever seen one.

Noel also did the trifecta, by winning the 400 IM right after his 400 Free, then getting up and just missing his own record in the 200 Free by a mere two seconds.

Klei continued her amazing meet by dropping time in everything, including a solid 200 Free and 200 IM. Lolmei threw down some big drops including a 30 second drop in her 200 IM, and 3 seconds in her 50 Free.

The most time dropped over the meet though hands down goes to Keemo, who went from a 2:43 to a 2:30 in the 200 Free, while also dropping over two seconds in his 50 Free with a 30.4, among many other great swims.

Roylin dropped some time in a couple of events, and ended up in the top 2 in the 100 Back, 50 Free, and 400 IM.

Ikelau went “Beast Mode” and went a 34 in the 50 Fly, as well as a 1:30 in the 100 Breaststroke. She had a great meet by dropping in all 10 of the swims she did.

Tomorrow we will be finishing off the competition with the 5K Open Water race in morning. With all of our Open Water training sessions, we are more than ready to race. Keep those fast thoughts going, and keep on cheering us on back home. (contributed by Palau Swim Team) [/restrict]
