Olympic Team Palau met with Rubekul Belau before leaving to Tokyo Olympic Games. The courtesy meeting was to present the three athletes and coaches to respective council members and provide brief update of the team preparation before they leave on the 19th of July to Tokyo and return on August 1st.
The Olympic athletes received words of encouragement and acknowledgement of their respective athleticism as Olympic athletes but also as ambassadors representing our country of Palau.
High Chief Reklai in his remarks told the athletes “to do their best to represent Palau, and to ensure to follow protocols to stay healthy and safe until their return.”
The three athletes are Adrian Ililau 100m sprinter, Osisang Chilton 50m Freestyle swimmer and Shawn Dingelius 50m Freestyle swimmer. Also present were Coaches Billy Brown and Peoria Koshiba and Chef de Mission Team Palau Marcy Andrew. (press release)
